"As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another".
- Proverbs 27:17

 

FIRST and foremost let's look at this verse that gives this "group its motto". Men of the church are to sharpen one another. As we meet regularly, the men of NLCMC will do just that - sharpen one another according to God's plan, measure, and methods. The men of NLCMC are committed to exhorting and encouraging one another as we pursue God's best for ourselves, our families, and our community.

We truly believe and stand on God's word in II Cor. 5:17 - "If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature; old things are past away; behold all things are become new". The men of NLCMC are called to be examples of God's grace and love, first in their own families and then in their relationships in the Church and their employment.

We meet every third Saturday of the month for breakfast at 9:00 a.m. at a local restaurant or other recreational venue.

ULTIMATE VISION: Our Pastor has been given a strong vision for the house of God and especially for the men of God within and the (lost) outside the church. First our mission consists of helping men accept Jesus as their personal Savior, we assist men with building a relationship with God, and offer fellowshipping with other strong men of God. We encourage and offer spiritual accountability. Secondly, we desire to see our "Men of God" move from "boys with toys" to "spirit led men looking ahead", so that they reflect the Biblical model of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Apostle Paul best clarifies this in 1 Corinthians 13:11, when I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

The Strategy: Our strategy is to mentor men through the local church with practical Biblical teachings with spiritual principles that will help men be the man God has created them to be.

Place of Praise (PoP): We like to ask, "How's your PoP"? Every man of God need's a Place of Praise--this is an ALIVE place of intimacy with God. We're taught and believe in keeping this place sacred. The vision of Men of God's Standard is to see men's lives changed through the gospel of Jesus Christ and to see men mature in the Lord; we're committed to developing these faithful men of God.

If you are a man who 'walks' the path of Christ you will be a better husband, father, boss, co-worker and friend if you RECEIVE the teaching. Let us encourage you along the path. This ministry desires to develop community relationships beyond denominations, while offering an opportunity for good wholesome fellowship with other believers in Jesus Christ.

Make no mistake we have lots of laugher and FUN; however, we find meaningful and edifying experiences by participating in small groups, the events and activities offered. NLC men's ministry engages regularly in fellowships whereby men are seeking a change. We're seeking men who are open in endeavoring to maintain spiritual unity and experience spiritual growth through various activities, including but not limited to, outreaches, seminars, etc. based on biblical teachings inspired by the Holy Spirit.
