Potter's Zone is our Sunday morning programme for primary and intermediate aged children. It runs at the 11am service. Children are welcome to bring friends, and we love visitors.
The 7 core values in the word POTTER'S are integral in each of the programmes that run, and are essential in developing a child to have a meaningful, dynamic and powerful faith!
Pray James 5:16 tell us, "The prayers of a righteous man are powerful and effective". Children's prayers have the potential to be no less powerful or effective than that of an adult. We want children to be excited about prayer and to expect miracles to happen when they do! We want them to see prayer as a way they can connect with their Heavenly Father and have a relationship with Him that is real, living and active.
Obey Ephesians 6:1 tell us, "Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right". The aim of POTTER'S ZONE is for children to be living with a strong knowledge of the bible and a determination to obey its teachings and precepts. This is especially important in their home life as they learn to honour their parents and caregivers with an obedient heart and right attitude.
Teach Ephesians 6:12 tells us, For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Our goal is to teach the youth that the Lord wants to have a personal relationship with them - He wants to lead them and guide them through His Word of Truth which pertains to their life and the experiences that they are going through! We want to grow them up in the Wisdom and Knowledge of Christ to prepare them for the challenges that lie ahead - so they will be able to stand Victorious.
Truth St. John 17:17 tells us, "Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth". The Word is God's chosen tool to facilitate change in His children. We believe God equips believers for every good work through His Word. Therefore, we use the Bible as our source of truth to facilitate change in our lives.
Enjoy Habakkuk 3:18 tells us, "Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation". For children to want to develop their faith beyond just church on a Sunday they need to enjoy it. POTTER'S ZONE aims to teach kids that their relationship with God is a privilege and that it can be enjoyed and FUN!
Reach Matthew 28:19 tells us, "Go and make disciples of every nation". Children have the ability to be fearless when telling their friends and family about their relationship with Christ. When they are given the tools to lead others into a relationship with Him, we believe they can be the world's greatest evangelists.
Salvation Acts 4:12 tells us, "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved". It is the power of God at work, saving everyone who believes. This we believe.
Where Fun, Faith and Family Connect The Potter's Zone Sunday Programme is only one aspect of the ministry and a child's spiritual development. Our desire is for children to be taught effective ways to grow in their faith throughout the week in partnership with their parents and families. We want to see children developing as whole people, growing into the people that God created them to be and working out their faith in the following ways:
Child as an Individual • A Personal Relationship with God • An Effective Prayer Life • A Lifestyle of Worship • An enjoyable, developing faith through Church, personal quiet times, small groups and children's events • Equipping with Life Skills • Personal Identity and Esteem - Identifying who I am in God. • Mission • Discerning Call and Spiritual Gifting
Child in Family • Tools and Skills for Reaching Friends and Family • Being Part of the Church Family • Honoring and Obeying Parents/Caregivers. • Equipping Families with tools for growing together spiritually and relationally • Parent Partnership - educating parents to understand their primary importance as the spiritual leaders of their children
Family in Community • Reaching out to the Community • Learning to be good citizens • Impacting the Community for Christ • Serving the Community
